Hi, We had to tweak it this year. Jiovanni will be 8 yrs. old in Jully, already! He has high functioning Autism and is on grade level and above. This was his first year being homeschooled. What a great experience for both of us. CAMP: The year before last he went to the JCC. It was a very well rounded program and he had a "shadow" that year. (expensive, but worth it). Last year he went to the Victory School camp (inclusive and very affordable) He had fun, but he needed more outdoor activities. The parents seemed to be so busy. Unfortunetly, he didn't make any lasting friendships there. Finances are in between this year. They're too much for scholarships and not enough for the great theraputic programs available. So we're going to make our own camp this year. We're going on local mini-vacations. We're still in the process of making a list of the things we want to do. One thing is going to Butterfly Garden and then buying a butterfly habitat. Another will be Nickleodeon/and the waterparks in Orlando. We'll be going up with his best friend and his Mom. Reading a book a day will be on our list of activities. We have a great reading program. We used it this year. It's called Raz-Kids.com. It's a little work, but fun at the same time, because it's animated and you can record your own voice. He'll be writing a cartoon journal story book and putting it online. Jiovanni loves to draw and tell stories. He also likes to take pictures. So online photography will be a fun thing to do. There will be lots of Water Polo games and swimming meets to go to as swimming is Jiovanni's sport. He has homeschooling friends he'll be spending time with and I hope, in the course of our local travels, he'll make some new and lasting friendships. Thanks guys for letting me share

I put my 4 year old in a summer camp called All Inclusive Summer Camp LLC, in Miller and 119th. He has high functioning autism. It was an inclusion camp with kids ranging from 3-12 with age appropriate classrooms. They had special events (Seaquarium,Western Extravaganza with pony rides), and they also had regular water play, and had a 4th of July show. It was GREAT! The teachers are ESE teachers that are off during the summer, and the volunteers are good kids that help out and serve as role models too. The first couple of days were rough, as anything new is a little hard for him to adjust to, but became easier very quickly. They also offered Speech and OT at a very reasonable cost. The camp was also VERY affordable, only $100 p/week. I recommend it. You can look up the site at http://www.allinclusivecamp.com/
