Dyan Perez

Education & Support Specialist

Dyan Perez was born and raised in Nicaragua where she lived until the age of 15. She later moved to Canada, where she completed an Associate’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. After 10 years of living in Canada, Dyan visited Miami, FL where she fell in love with the climate and her husband and has been in Florida for over 18 years. Dyan has two beautiful boys; the oldest one diagnosed with ADHD, and her youngest son is under the autism spectrum. It has been a long road for her family, seeking help and knocking on doors for support and therapies. Thankfully, the family was able to find amazing people along the journey.

Dyan has wanted to give back to the community for a long time and working at Parent to Parent of Miami provides the opportunity to help other parents struggling to find the right supports. Dyan feels parents should have access to all the information necessary for parents and their children to succeed in life. She worked for many years as a case manager for low-income families and has also worked at Miami Dade College serving a diverse and sensitive community. While working at MDC she completed an Associate’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Supervision and Management and is currently completing her Master’s Degree at Nova Southeastern University in Human Services, majoring in Child Protection. Dyan is thankful to have the support of her husband, her two handsome boys, and her fur babies Coco & Nunu through this new chapter in her life.
