Jeanette Marie Córdova started with Parent to Parent Miami as one of our Education and Support Specialist mid-July 2019 and was promoted to Outreach Coordinator in 2020. Jeanette was born in NYC, raised in Cutler Ridge, Miami, and moved to Homestead Thanksgiving 2018 from Denver, Colorado where she lived for 27 years. Jeanette has a Bachelors in Human Services, with a Concentration in Nonprofit and minors in Psychology and Spanish language. Jeanette graduated June 2017 from the LEND Fellow program with JFK Partners as a Parent and Diversity Fellow. Jeanette is the proud mom of a soon to be 18 son, Tait, who is chromosomally enhanced and is a character. Jeanette knows first-hand the challenges and wonderful journey being a parent of a child with different abilities. Jeanette has been working in the disability community for over 16 years and the last several years in Denver focused on their Spanish speaking community and in particular autism.
Jeanette worked for the SPARK autism project at JFK Partners, The Arc of Arapahoe & Douglas, Thrive Center, and Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome where she started the first Spanish speaking support group for parent of loved ones with Down syndrome which is still running today. Jeanette is also proud to have served as an Education Surrogate Parent for the Colorado Department of Education as well as served on the Colorado Development Disabilities Council and other nonprofit boards. Jeanette is working toward a Masters in Nonprofit Management. Jeanette is honored and looking forward to serving our Miami-Dade disability community.
