Addressing Behavioral Concerns in School: Understanding MTSS/RtI

This presentation covers what the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RtI) are and how they are used within the school district to address behaviors. The presentation will review the MDCPS code of student conduct and how your child’s behaviors at school fit into MTSS/RtI. It will review the processes of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and the creation of a Behavior Implementation Plan (BIP), and end with your rights as a parent and what you can do to be an advocate for your child during these processes.
