Path to Independence: Promoting Self Determination

Research shows people who are self-determined have higher rates of employment. Self-determination is an important part of transition from adolescence to adulthood. This workshop will help parents/youths with disabilities understand what self-determination is, the importance of self-determination, what skills youth with disabilities need to develop, how to make better choices and to set and attain goals. Promoting self-determination is about promoting dignity, respect and raising expectations!

*It’s highly recommended that student attends with parent to participate in self determination activities during the workshop.
